Every long inhale
every slow exhale.
Every comma,
every sign.
They say
what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
which leads me to believe
that you and I
can survive this war.
Every faded scar,
every crossed line.
They say
a smooth sea never made a skillful sailor
which leads me to believe
that you and I
are unsinkable.
Every gust of wind,
every battered sail.
Nothing will bring
