This is being written from my childhood bedroom in St. Lewis. Yep, you guessed it, I’m home for Christmas. It’s not as Christmassy here as it is in Goose Bay, we’ve had a nice bit of rain, and it’s still raining. But honestly, a white Christmas is not that important anymore. I’ve come to realize that none of it really matters as long as you’re with your family.
It’s been a while since I posted anything. I’ve been busy (go figure, so is everybody!) at work, and busy packing up. I moved, again! I’m seriously going to refer to myself as a nomad now. I’m still in Goose Bay, just in a different part of town. My favorite part of town.
My contract was also extended so I’ll be here until at least May month. There’s so much planned, it’s somewhat overwhelming, but totally exciting. There are many opportunities to be had, I’m going to enjoy the ride.
You know what’s funny though? The change in writing style. I do some technical writing at work along with my other social media/photo/video work and the difference in style seriously makes me lol. You go through grade school writing one way, just making sure you spell things correctly. Then you move into high school and make sure you understand the concept of irony and where to place your commas. Then it’s off to college – particularly journalism school – and suddenly everything changes! You’ve got the Canadian Press after ya. And then, then you get into the ‘real world’, which if you’re into PR means a lot of political rhetoric – a lot of – ‘a good time was had by all’. Et cetera.
<I’m aware that there are a lot of errors in that last paragraph>
It’s just silly, really. But it’s all a learning experience! and I love to learn.
Anyway! It’s Christmastime, and I’m home, and my family is safe and happy, and healthy. And really, that’s all that matters.
Merry Christmas all. Love from blogland.
