Have you ever seen SLC Punk? How about Scream 2? There’s so many more incredible titles I could list, but the point of this story revolves around Matthew Lillard. I. Love. This. Man.
Matthew Lillard is such a pure and real actor, he recently did an AMA on reddit which I followed with great interest. He’s not fake, he’s actually quite genuine in his work as an actor (and probably otherwise, I don’t know the guy, lol) but now he has a new role, and that’s as a director.
Lillard read the book “Fat Kid Rules The World” by K.L. Going and decided he wanted to make it into a movie. The book is about a teenage boy who is overweight and depressed, and suddenly discovers punk rock music.
I instantly knew I wanted to see this movie because of two reasons: one, because Matthew Lillard directs & acts in it; and two, because it’s about a fat kid (have you seen me lately?) who discovers punk rock. And I love me some punk rock.
Take a look at this video, and pledge some $ if you can. At the beginning Lillard explains that basically, fat kids don’t make money in Hollywood. How many movies do we really see that involve larger people? Only one title actually comes to mind off the top of my head. Anyway, I digress. Check out the video and pledge if you feel it’s something you believe in, but at the very least, pass it along to others.
